Ladies Only Fishing Event 2019

37 Ladies fishing compared to 57 last year – a forecast for frequent rain and 25 knots gusting 30 will do that.

The weather wasn’t hot, but the fishing WAS!

Crews caught and released good sized snapper until they couldn’t do it anymore. One crew was back at
the ramp before 10am!
Awesome sponsor support again this year, thank you for staying with us while we build this event.
The two juniors did well to be out in those conditions, Laticia and Isla Levet picking up prizes.
The kingfish section was won by Charlotte Greenwood with a nice 97cm fish. That’s a good fish on light gear while trying to stay on your feet.

The kahawai section was close at:
3rd Poppy Stenbeck 56.5cm
2nd Lexi Carter 57.0cm
1st Caroline Ridley 57.5cm

But the REALLY close section was snapper, where placings had to be allocated on the time of the measuring card reaching the weighmaster:
5th Stef VanderPutten 70cm
4th Aimee Ridley 70cm
3rd Nicola Rathe 70cm
2nd Charlotte Greenwood 70cm
1st Lexi Carter 78.5cm

Most of these fish were released.
